Optimist Sails & Accessories

Our Optimist race sails are radial cut and made from high quality 2.99 contender polykote ripstop, which ensures a firm non stretch finish in top end conditions. All of our Optimist sails come complete for $650 + GST including, battens, sail bag, sail numbers, woolies, sail ties, and royalty button. NZIODA measuring is available at a cost of $20 + GST, and freight can also be organized when ordering sails. A full range of covers and accessories are available on request including training sails, boat and foil covers, and padded hiking straps.

New Zealand Radial Sail Designs

Our radial sails are tried in proven in both New Zealand and the World stage, winning both National and World championships.  The sails go well through a variety of conditions but excell in breezy and or wavey conditions.  We have modified last year's successful design slightly, smoother patches, stiffer top batten, and a slightly improved panel layout and flying shape. 

L-08 (light under 35 Kg's)

Our most recent version of the popular and race proven L-08.

M-08 (medium between 36 and 44 Kg's)

Based off the H-08 mould but has a straighter exit and is 1-2% flatter overall. This was developed by legendary New Zealand coach, Grant Beck and has won the 2006-2007 New Zealand Optimist Nationals.

H-08 (heavy over 45Kg's)

Our most popular design and is ideally suited to experienced Optimist sailors 45 kilograms and above. This sail has won World Championships, Continental Championships and National Championships.
